We arrived into Udaipur, the city of lakes, via overnight train from Delhi and been staying at Oolala Guest House with a room overlooking one of the lakes.
We spent an afternoon and another full day volunteering at Animal Aid Unlimited. We had planned to go back for another day but unfortunately Sue had a brief encounter with D & V. Animal Aid is a charity which rescues and treats ownerless street animals who have become ill or injured. It's a huge site with an animal hospital, areas for disabled dogs (of which there are many), geriatric dogs, a sanctuary for abandoned cattle, horses and mistreated donkeys and an area for goats, sheep and calves. During our time there we bottle fed calves who were so eager for their milk that they would step on our toes and boy is that painful, and at the end of the day we put on their jackets; we spent several hours with the disabled and geriatric dogs (one of the photos is of some geriatrics wrapped in their blankets) giving them love and attention and a good brushing (demand was such that you'd often need to attend to three or four at the same time).
Once Sue had recovered we spent a day visiting the royal palace (many photos) and going to Tiger Lake (no tigers spotted) and the Bahubali Hills (more photos from the top).

Sorry to hear Sue has been a little unwell but glad it didn’t last too long.
The lakes, mountains and Royal Palace all look so beautiful. It is good to see both of you looking so well too. All our love and hugs.
Sorry to hear Sue has been unwell 😥 but a little alarmed at the thought of you putting on the donkeys’ jackets - hope they managed to keep themselves warm without! We loved Udaipur, although it was probably a little busier when we went as it was Diwali. It brings back a lot of memories though 😄 Love and hugs xxxx
