Bryce Canyon, Utah, USA 10th June 223

After driving for about five hours from Grand Canyon, we arrived at Bryce Canyon Lodge yesterday afternoon (losing an hour as we'd crossed a time zone).  The Lodge is very close to the rim of the canyon so we walked around to Sunrise Point to check out the trail down into the canyon in readiness for tomorrow's hike.  We were both puffing a bit after minimal exertion due to being over 2500 metres high.

So this morning we set off down the Navajo Trail which was steep switchbacks all the way to the bottom, and then we crossed the canyon floor for about a mile before climbing up to Sunrise Point, with many breathers along the way.  It was absolutely stunning and Paul took a couple of hundred photos of the Hoodoos (tall red rock formations eroded by rain, wind and ice).  One of the formations has been named Queen Victoria but you need to squint at the right angle to see any resemblance.

If you look closely at the photos you can see parts of the trail.

Hi Sue and Paul
Fabulous pictures, as before.
(I particularly liked the Hoodoos!)
You could publish a book on your travels.
All great stuff. Hope you're both well and having fun. What an experience - the memories will keep you going for ages.
Byee for now.
Love and best wishes to you both xx
